RFID Printers Produce Error-Free RFID Tags & Smart Labels for Asset Tracking and Real-Time Identification

Recent technological advancements have put RFID at the forefront of innovation. The benefits of RFID are well documented by major industry adopters in retail and hospitals, in pharmaceuticals for compliance tracking, and in other types of manufacturing where item visibility and inventory accuracy are critical. Adding RFID printers to your operation allows you to print and encode RFID tags, labels and cards on-demand— giving you ultimate flexibility and control over your data.

Today’s RFID printers make it possible to streamline your data capturing process, whether it’s printing RFID tags to track pallets moving through a warehouse or placing RFID labels on merchandise in your store. With many different RFID printers available, it’s important to choose the one that’s best for your application.

For example, a compact desktop RFID printer might be more suitable in a retail environment where space is limited and technical staff is not readily available. If you’re planning to affix RFID labels on metal assets, like tools or automotive parts, you’ll need an industrial RFID printer and specialty tags specifically designed to overcome the RF interference challenges that stem from tracking metal objects.

Whatever your use case may be, our experienced team can recommend an RFID printer from market leaders, Zebra or Honeywell that best suits your needs. Contact a Systems Consultant today for a complimentary needs analysis.

What is RAIN RFID?

RAIN RFID logo from the RAIN Alliance.

Similar to “WiFi” or “Bluetooth,” RAIN RFID is a branded term created and introduced by the RAIN Alliance, which is composed of several companies whose goal is to enable the widespread use and adoption of Passive UHF RFID technologies. The alliance follows a set of guidelines and protocols when determining if a product is RAIN RFID certified or not. RAIN RFID products must operate at a Passive RFID UHF frequency range of 860-960 MHz, which is one of the largest, standardized frequency ranges for RFID products. RAIN RFID is also a nod towards the link between UHF RFID and cloud-based infrastructure, meaning RFID data can be stored, managed and shared over the Internet. Visit www.rainrfid.org to learn more about the RAIN Alliance and the different standards and protocols they follow.
